Argo Canoe Livery
Alright folks, let's be clear: Ann Arbor works hard at having nice outdoor spaces for its citizens (human and four-legged alike), and Argo Park is no different. I live just northeast of Argo Park, so this is my go-to spot whenever I need to go run a few miles. The west side of the park has a paved trail next to a frisbee golf course and a small BMX bike area. The east side of the park has a legit trail path through the trees that's good for some "less flat" running. I've only been in AA for a good month now but I've probably already racked up a good 30-40 miles around Argo Park alone.
Last night I finally gave the canoe livery a shot. You're dropped off in the Huron river just SE of the new Brehm/Kellogg Eye Tower (not directly in Argo Pond), but it's a relaxing stretch down to Gallup Park. Prices run $18 for a single-person canoe or $22 for a two-person vessel. Just an FYI: If the people at the rental shop tell you where to go to stay in deeper water, do it! It's a bummer if you get your canoe stuck on a big rock. Good thing they're made out of solid aluminum.
